When the Pulsera Project seeks out partnerships, programs, and investments in Central America, we use the following 15 values as guiding principles for those decisions.

Jobs: Provide jobs to Central Americans, especially within organizations that distribute most earnings to employees and/or their communities.
2.
Human Rights: Support internationally recognized human rights, especially organizations with a focus on gender equality.
3.
Leadership: Support effective, innovative, passionate, and humble leaders who share Pulsera Project values.
4.
Sustainable Philanthropy: Investments are made so that time, effort, and money are
effectively managed to build a self-sustaining system -- not just short-term results.
5.
Values Education: Promote education that emphasizes honesty, respect, fairness, humility, self-awareness, positivity, and healthy professional and personal relationships (among others).
7.
Environment: Promote environmental stewardship through specific programs that take into account environmental impact & sustainability.
6.
Fair Trade: Support and advocate for the Fair Trade Federation’s ten principles.
8.
Sustainability: Engage the world with sustainability in mind. Sustainability is prioritized in decision-making and a concern of the leadership.
9.
Traditional Education: Provide traditional school education as a foundation for personal and community success.
10.
Service: Believe in and promote the value of service to others.
11.
Innovation: Value creativity and innovation in their thinking about international development. Skilled at thinking outside of the box.
12.
Community: Understand and promote a sense of community and value the common good.
13.
Succession: Have an organizational succession plan in place, and the operational and programmatic knowledge is documented and organized.
14.
Frugality: Are frugal -- operate effectively without extravagance.
15.
Fun, Beauty, Adventure: Values the importance of fun, the arts, music, and travel as part of a healthy relationship to community & the world.
